Shoulda
Brenner has spent the last 10 months lulling us into a false sense of security. Shoulda named him Trouble.

I think it's almost over
After 2 days of porcelain throne praying, laundry doing and Gatorade drinking I think Avery and I are on the mend. Fortunately, Jay and Brenner have not caught this vicious stomach bug.
Today, I am still in my robe. I haven't had a stitch of makeup on or been out of my robe (except to wash it 3 times) in 3 days. Little girl has not had a single drop of milk because her stomach cannot handle it. And I seriously dwindled down my bleach supply as I walk around sanitizing.
My hubby deserves an award for the patience and care he gave us.
In quoting my good friend, "You can't spell flu without f-u"

Books
When I look a my children and think of them growing up I have one quality that I truly hope to pass on to them, my love of reading.
When we were setting up Avery's "big girl" room, we purposefully centered the bed. It left some negative space in the corner, but that is exactly what I wanted. I placed a chair and basket full books in the corner, hidden behind her bed.
In my bedroom growing up I had the same spot, where i used to sit and read, hidden from my siblings.
Today as Brenner napped, Avery played in her room. When I walked in to check on her, I found her in the corner with all of her books out reading!! It made my heart sing.

We are sick
We hoped Peruvian food, fresh air and South Coast Plaza would heal our ailing bodies, we were wrong. But a great meal and some new bling put a big smile on my face. Not Avery's face though...

Happy Halloween
Avery as Minnie Mouse and Brenner is a Charger's linebacker!
We went to a whopping 5 houses and then hung out on the driveway, hoping Trick-Or-Treaters would come to the house. We still had a blast.

I.am.lucky.
I have said it before and I will say it again.
When I met Jay I was introduced to an
incredible group of friends.
We laugh, we joke, we reminisce.
We eat damn good food.
Today was good for my soul.

I am blessed to have my friends.
No matter how much time has passed,
when I am with them I feel safe in the warmth of loving friendship.
Being in their presence is like a hug for my heart.
To Tiff and Kim,

I am lucky to have you and to have called you my friends for 20+ years!

You. Were. Right. I. Was. Wrong.
A couple of weeks ago Jay insisted that we purchase a toaster oven. I have been denying this request for 4 years. "It will just be one more appliance taking up space in my kitchen." Or, "Only Filipinos use toaster ovens." Not PC I realize, but I just did not see the value in it. Two weeks ago, Jay walked our entire family into Macy's, picked one out and we headed to the car. When we got home, I unwrapped it, cleared out a space in the cupboard and put it away. Jay suggested I simply leave it on the counter and I brushed off his suggestion.
It is now my favorite appliance. I used it 3 times today. Are you kidding me?? I'm a cook, not a chef, and I even fight the cook label, but this little contraption has made my life easier. From toaster waffles to cheese bread to creamy spinach parmesan I love my little toaster.
Today I took a picture with my favorite new appliance and sent it to my hubby. He's so excited about my omission that I decided to make it public. Yes Jay, you were right, I was wrong. Enjoy your moment babe.
I wanted to send Jay a pic of me kissing the toaster, but it was too hot. I had just used it people!

This cool overcast morning has me skipping around the house. I pulled on my winter robe at 6am and loved every sip of my hot coffee. Dressing for the day had me on wardobe overload. Jay asked what I was getting dressed up for, ummm, Target. But I just couldn't resist the sweaters, scarfs and boots that have been too long neglected in my closet. After a few fashion mishaps, I decided on a summer/fall hybrid outfit with scarf. After all, it's 80 degrees out now.
Inspite of the sunshine (lol), I feel the need to bake. Trader Joe's Pumpkin muffins, I think so! It is officailly that time of year where I will consume any and all things pumpkin flavor. Bring on the Pumpkin Spice lattes, Pumpkin bread, Pumpkin ice cream and Pumpkin pie.

Little Boy Blue
Brenner has truly blessed our family. I can't even remember what life was like before he joined our li'l gang. He has the happiest and most mellow disposition and I often refer to him as, "the easiest baby ever!" I seriously didn't know a baby could be like this, he's just so chill.
Jay and I, along with our doctor, made the decision to put him in a helmet. I want everyone to know that he is 100% healthy and happy. My little blessing began doing 10-12 hour sleep runs at only 2 months of age, this resulted in a flat and slighty crooked head shape. The helmet has been on 3 weeks and is already working wonders.
Now he just needs a rad sticker for it!
Love.
